Save Animals Like Tucker – Ottawa Humane Society Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run Coming Soon
Sept. 17, 2026 — Registration for the Ottawa Humane Society’s Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run closes on Sunday, Sept. 20. The Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run is the biggest event to support the animals at the OHS, making essential shelter and care possible for animals like Tucker.
Tucker is a puppy who was found lost and alone on the side of Montreal Road. The hair on his face had fallen out and his exposed skin was inflamed, infected and tender to the touch. He was having a hard time walking, softly whining, and was clearly in a lot of trouble.
The OHS veterinary team started Tucker on pain medications to help make him comfortable, and provided steroid medications and antibiotics to treat the infection. Tucker started improving. His face started scabbing over and began the process of healing.
The OHS’s Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Hog’s Back Park helps support the thousands of animals like Tucker who rely on the OHS each year.
“We rely on the community’s support to make life-saving shelter and care possible for Ottawa’s homeless animals,” said Sharon Miko, OHS President & CEO. “Every day, we see animals like Tucker who have no one else. Our annual walk is one of the ways our incredible community makes this essential care possible.”
